Meet the Organoid turns microscopic imagery into an immersive encounter. Projection, light and sound bring the forms of living tissue into a space we can enter together.

Alongside this world of scientific images, painter Jaap Godrie portrays an organoid as something precious, carefully wrapped in velvet. A research model becomes an invitation to consider life, fragility and the attention we give to both.

Organoids are small, three-dimensional structures grown from cells in the laboratory. They reproduce some of the features of a particular tissue or organ, allowing researchers to study aspects of human biology in a controlled setting.

They are models, with possibilities and limits. An organoid does not reproduce the full complexity of a human organ or the person it comes from.

The installation begins with this research and opens the conversation: what can a model help us understand, and what remains outside its frame?

Scientific discovery raises questions that belong in public life. How do we care for living material? What responsibilities come with using it in research? How should we weigh the possibilities of a technology against what we do not yet know?

Through art, we invite people beyond the laboratory to take part. The aim is to create space for reflection and conversation, including perspectives that a scientific image alone cannot contain.
